7-piece band Couch came in swinging, debuting not only in Bethlehem, but also serving as the debut act in Levitt Pavillion 's 2025 outdoor concert season. A colorful aura emerges on the concrete stage - that you might assume is made of jelly based on the way lead singer, Tema Siegel, bounces across the stage. A show full of energy, light, and a new view on the future of pop and funk music.

Couch has a sound that is unlike many other popular bands nowadays. While their audience is mostly younger fans, it is clear that there is influence from older music that makes their sound so enjoyable for all ages. The diverse audience of Bethlehem, PA held all ages, young and old, all of which seemed to love the music that this band is very obviously passionate aabout playing. Their last EP, "Sunshower" was released in 2023, and since then, they have been releasing "Sweater Sessions" - covers of their own and other songs in their own, unique style.

What was special about this show, you ask? Well, Couch branded this show as "the show they would debut 6 new songs," giving hints that another project may be on the horizon. The band is already embarking on a tour that will last all of summer and fall, and they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Levitt Pavilion was packed with fans and audience members on May 16th, ready to hear the pop/funk/jazz sensations that have climbed their way to a headlining tour.

In this day and age of music, finding your niche has become especially important. Fans appreciate something new, different, and not just a copy cat of an artist or band that we have seen over and over again. Couch is rebranding what is means to be a band, more specifically, that a stereotypical image of a band can consist of more than just a vocalist, a drummer, a guitarist, and a bassist. Horns and keyboards gives Couch their unexpected edge, which makes them so dynamic and interesting to watch. A 7 piece band gives you 7 times the excitement, and 7 times the amount of things to watch. As a stand alone act for the evening, Couch was all that was needed to guarentee a good time during their stay in Pennsylvania.
