When did The Agoreez form?
We originally formed in early 2023. We had a few lineup changes early on but have been going strong in our current form for the last year and a half.
What is your creative process like? Who or what do you take inspiration from?
We all collaborate together on the writing process. Usually Jeff and myself put together a starting structure for a song, and then we bring it into the room and all refine it together. Everyone in the band is into a huge variety of music so we get inspiration from a lot of different bands and genres. Our roots are in thrash/crossover but we add elements of hardcore, old school death metal, punk and more.
What do y'all hope to accomplish one year from now?
We just finished recording our first album, and it’s currently in the mixing/mastering process. The priority is to get that out there and into peoples ear holes as soon as possible. After that we are going to continue writing new tunes and booking some killer shows for 2026.
What are y'all listening to right now?
A little bit of everything! My personal rotation has been Municipal Waste, Obituary, Crowbar, Terror, Tyler Childers, and DOWN.
How do you feel about recent criticisms that politics should be kept out of music & musicians should not share political opinions?
I know my stance- feel free to rant!! I feel that it’s a personal choice for each artist. Music holds a different space in everyone’s life. For some it’s a platform to get their beliefs and opinions out to the world, and for others it’s a means to escape all of the political turmoil and stresses of life and to just have a damn good time for an evening. There’s no wrong answer as long as you are being true to yourself.
What sets you apart from other bands in your lane?
Our music has evolved to have a pretty unique sound. We incorporate sounds from so many different genres that we are able to fit in on a large variety of different bills and make new fans across genres. If you like heavy music and having a good time then you’ll probably like us
